the severn sea linocut

£25.00 - £40.00

An old name for the Bristol Channel and the lower reaches of the River Severn is the Severn Sea. For me the name captures something of the ambiguity and strangeness and wildness of the water. So I’ve turned it into a new linocut print, complete with an accidentally backwards letter, which I’ve decided is charming rather than annoying.

I’ve hand printed each image, using a traditional Japanese bamboo baren. There will be some natural variation from print to print.

Lino is a traditional printing surface, made using natural materials: wood flour and linseed oil.

The red ink is made in Britain from high quality pigment and vegetable oil.

The image is approximately 60mm x 40mm, and the paper is approximately 72mm x 54mm.

This print will be sent from the UK. Any import taxes or other fees are the responsibility of the buyer. If you’d like a hand looking into this, send me a message.
