the beast linocut

This one’s been a long time coming. It’s inspired by all those paintings of awkward rectangular cows I used to find so disturbing as a child. They hung in many a country pub back then and still do now. Have you seen the beast?

I’ve hand printed each image, using a traditional Japanese bamboo baren. There will be some natural variation from print to print.

Lino is a traditional printing surface, made using natural materials: wood flour and linseed oil.

The black ink is made in Britain from high quality pigment and vegetable oil.

The image is approximately 60mm x 40mm, and the paper is approximately 72mm x 54mm.
