somerset linocut

I made this linocut as a momento of my time walking in Somerset. The design is informed by the graphics on the cabs of haulage lorries, proudly displaying their county of origin.

I’ve hand printed each image, using a traditional Japanese bamboo baren. There will be some natural variation from print to print.

Lino is a traditional printing surface, made using natural materials: wood flour and linseed oil.

The red ink is made in Britain from high quality pigment and vegetable oil.

The image is approximately 60mm x 40mm, and the paper is approximately 72mm x 54mm.
